Case Files: Pediatrics, 6e Access

Case Files: Pediatrics, 6e Access
Good evening,

Do you mind confirming if Brown University provides medical students with a subscription to McGraw Medical? I'm trying to access a text here and am getting this response but not seeing any access documented on the library. Thank you!

Warmly,
Meylakh

Answer

Hi Meylakh;

Yes, we have full access to the Access Medical Suite, including Case Files collection. The Lifespan hospitals have access to to Access Medicine but nothing else in the collection, so if you were at Hasbro, for instance, and not going through the Brown Library, you wouldn't have been able to get to the case files.

For full access through Brown, you can get there in a few different ways.

  1. If you're on the Brown campus or using VPN, you should be able to go directly to the resource and be recognized.
  2. From off-campus, go to https://libguides.brown.edu/health and follow the link to Access Medicine or to the Case Files collection, or go to our A-Z databases list and follow the link to Case Files
  3. Here is the direct link to the Pediatrics files
  4. Once you go into one of the Access+ resources via Brown authentication, you can create a personal account. If you're off-campus you can then just sign in with your own account to be recognized.

Please let us know if you have any other difficulties!

Best,

Erika
