Can I ask the library to buy a book for course reserves if we don't own it?

Answer

Yes, we will make every effort to find a copy to purchase if we don't already own the book or if we need additional copies to put on reserve. If one is available, we will purchase a multi-user ebook. If a multi-user ebook is not available, we will purchase a print book for digitization. Due to copyright considerations, a digitized print book may be used by only one student at a time, just as if it were a print book. If you have a large class, we can buy multiple copies to digitize (approximately 1 copy per 20 students). While digitized versions of print books are on reserve, the print originals will not be available to check out. Note: we no longer have any print books on reserve.
