How do I find a full text article by PMID?

Answer

The quickest option (if you're already in PubMed) is to install the LibKey Nomad browser extension. This will show PDF and other access options in the PubMed summary results page.

If you have the DOI or PMID, you can also use a related tool, called libkey.io, to look it up. If you haven't used it before you'll have to select Brown as your institution. If we have a subscription, there should be a link to the full text--if we do not, you'll be directed to our ILLiad form and we'll get it from another institution.

You can also get to the full text of an article by typing the PMID in the main search box of PubMed. You would need to access PubMed via the library's customized link here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?myncbishare=brownu , then you can type the PMID in the main search box, which should bring you to a page similar to this: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23548978/. If you look on the right, next to the title, you'll see the link to Find It@Brown, which gives you our access options.
