How can I access a full text article with a PMID number?
Answer
A PMID is a PubMed Identifier number. You can enter this number in PubMed's search bar to find the full article information. To access full text, click the "Find It" button in the top right corner to connect to our subscription or request a PDF through interlibrary loan. Be sure to go to PubMed through the library's website, rather than the public version.
Other options are to install the LibKey Nomad browser extension. This will show pdf and other access options in the PubMed summary results page.
Or use libkey.io to look up the PMID or DOI. If you haven't used it before, you will have to select Brown as your institution. If we have a subscription, there should be a link to the full text. If we don't, you'll be directed to our ILLiad form and we'll get the article from another institution.
