What are course reserves?

Answer

Books, articles, videos, and other resources that a faculty member has indicated should be read or viewed for class. Reserves are accessed through our new system.

Brown's libraries offer online access to faculty assigned texts, audio, and video materials for courses. Digitized texts and links to licensed materials are known as online reserves. In addition to book chapters and persistent links to articles, you can also request audio and video for your students to access over the web. The library no longer has physical reserves, so all material will be digitized and made available through course reserves, including entire books if an ebook is not available for purchase.

Please note that OCRA, our former system, no longer exists and has been replaced with the new Course Reserves system.
