May we distribute copies of articles written by Brown faculty and alumni at a symposium / conference?
Answer
In some cases the copyright for an article belongs to the publisher and in some cases to the author. Some publishers allow authors to share a limited number of their article, or there may be an online version to which you can point people. You should check the copyright ownership and licensing for each article. If the article does not include a Creative Commons license or other policy for sharing, you should consider alternatives, such as obtaining permission, substituting another article, or directing users to an online repository.
