How do I find articles?
Answer
If you know what article you need, you can first paste the title into the BruKnow search box on the library homepage and choose the Articles Only button beneath the box. If it doesn't, you can search for the journal title to see if we have it in our collections. There is a link at the top of the page in the BruKnow interface called Find Journal. Click on this and enter the journal title.
If you don't already have a particular article in mind, the BruKnow search will lead you to many articles that fit your search terms. You also can search specific subject databases by checking the appropriate subject guide. Some of the citations in these database will have links to full-text. Others will have a Findit! link which you can use to determine how else to obtain the article. Your options may include using a print volume or requesting the article through Interlibrary Loan.
If you need a specific article and don't have a Findit! link, go to your ILLiad account, log in, and choose Request an Article, then fill in as much citation information as you can.
We have also created a tutorial on our Finding Information guide which explains some of the best ways to find articles.
You may also contact a subject librarian for assistance.
